Directory Categories

Every site on WowJobcy is filed into one of ten specific categories. Use the index to jump straight to the topic you need. Each category is maintained its own bookmarks. Bookmarks that are outdated, inactive, paywall, or lack usefulness for professionals are removed yearly.

How categories are decided

A site belongs to whichever category a typical professional would look in first. GitHub sits in Development rather than Collaboration because that's where developers expect to find it. LinkedIn sits in Career rather than Social for the same reason. When a tool genuinely spans two categories — Notion, for instance, sits between Productivity and Business — we pick the one that matches its primary use case and leave it there.

If you believe a site has been miscategorised, or you'd like to nominate one for inclusion, the directory is reviewed at the end of every quarter. There is no paid placement, and there is no fast track.

Editorial standards

  • Sites must be live, accessible without an immediate paywall, and useful to a working professional.
  • Tools that exist primarily to drive affiliate revenue without genuine utility are excluded.
  • News and media sites must have a track record of at least 12 months of consistent publishing.
  • AI tools must be usable in English with a clear free tier or trial.
  • We do not list sites that require account creation before any feature preview.

We all bring different strengths from design and engineering to editorial and product but we’re united by the same goal: putting together the web’s most useful resources into one clear, easy to browse directory made for working professionals.

The problem we're solving

Search engines has turned into a mess of sponsored links and unwanted content. Try “best design tool” and you’ll usually land on unwanted websites, ads, and AI-written filler before you find anything that sounds like a real recommendation.

WowJobcy is built to push back: a team that carefully maintained directory run by real people who uses these tools every day.

It’s also intentionally not comprehensive. Adding something means reviewing what’s already there. The goal isn’t to cover the whole internet it’s to include the sites you’d genuinely can't live without😊.

How curation works

Every bookmark listed is something a real person has used for real work in the last six months. We don’t list tools we haven’t personally tested or carefully conduct a thorough survey on. We don’t include things just because they’re popular. And we don’t add tools because someone paid for placement.

Each year, we go through the directory end to end. If a site shuts down, locks itself behind paywalls, or gets acquired and loses quality, it comes out. New tools go in only after they’ve earned their spot through at least six months of actual use. The directory grows slowly by design.

Who is behind this

WowJobcy is run by a small editorial team focused on one thing: helping professionals quickly find the right tools, communities, and resources for their industry.

We’ve built it as a “go to” directory that cuts out the usual search engine runaround no endless scrolling, no guesswork so you can land on options that actually make sense, based on real-world use.

What we don't do

  • We do not accept payment for inclusion in the directory.
  • We do not accept payment for higher placement within a category.
  • We do not list sites we have not personally used.
  • We do not run third-party tracking scripts beyond privacy-respecting analytics.
  • We do not sell your data, your email, or your attention.

How the site is funded

WowJobcy is funded through clearly-labelled affiliate links on a handful of services that we will recommend to you. The ones where we'd earn a referral fee will be marked as"Sponsored", and they do not influence editorial picked.

The short version

We don't collect personal data. We don't use cookies to track you. We use privacy-respecting analytics that tells us aggregate traffic counts without identifying individuals. When you click an external link, you leave WowJobcy and are subject to the destination site's privacy policy.

Information we collect

WowJobcy does not require an account. We do not ask for your name, email address, or any other personally identifiable information. The directory is browsable anonymously.

We use a privacy-respecting analytics tool (Plausible) that records aggregate, anonymised traffic data — page views, rough geographic region (country level), and the referring website. This data is not tied to your identity, is not sold, and is not shared with advertisers.

Cookies

WowJobcy does not set any cookies of its own. We do not use cookie banners because we do not use tracking cookies. The only cookies you may encounter are those set by third-party services we link out to — those are governed by the respective sites' own policies.

Website favicons and logos

To display website logos in the directory, we automatically fetch favicons from third-party services such as Google's favicon service and DuckDuckGo. When your browser loads a logo, it connects to these services directly. We have no control over what those services log or retain. If a favicon is unavailable, we fall back to displaying the site's initials. If this concerns you, consider using a content blocker.

Affiliate links

Some links on WowJobcy are affiliate links. This means if you click through and sign up for a service, we may earn a referral fee at no additional cost to you. These links are clearly marked "Sponsored" inline. Affiliate relationships do not influence editorial placement. We recommend services we use, not services that pay us.

Affiliate partners may set their own cookies when you visit their sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services. Please review their policies directly.

Third-party links

WowJobcy is, by design, a directory of links to other websites. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of any site we link to. Once you leave WowJobcy, you are subject to the destination site's terms and policies.

Your rights

Because we don't collect personal data, there's nothing for you to request, export, or delete. If you ever contact us by email, we retain that correspondence for as long as needed to resolve your query, then delete it. We do not add you to any mailing list unless you explicitly ask.

If you are a European resident, your rights under GDPR include the right to access, rectify, or erase personal data. Since we don't hold personal data, these rights are largely moot — but you can still contact us at privacy@wowjobcy.com with any concern and we will respond within 30 days.

Children's privacy

WowJobcy is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be noted on this page for at least 30 days after they take effect.
